At the beginning of the week, I celebrated a special day–my birthday and it was wonderful! (Hey, to those of you who have said that I look like I’m fourteen. Well, thank you.::wink, wink::) Each year brings new blessings, lessons and memories and I am just happy that I am still around to experience all that life has to offer me so far. Over time, I have come to the realization that birthdays do not have to be big or loud for it feel like a celebration, but, that it should at the very least make you feel special.
This was day 2 of our trip to Mexico which was filled with inspiration and excitement. I felt like such a kid. Who would have thought that a body of water and sand would be enough to consume my day? It was so peaceful and calming to just sit on the edge of bay and get swept away into paradise.
Plus, I heard that saltwater would be good for my sprained ankle so I just let the waves rush over me. I still have sand in my hair and its been two weeks since the trip. Funny enough, as my mother an I were trying to wash off the sand a man walking by said,
I’ve been doing my own countdown for this vacation since I bought the tickets and it was definitely worth the wait. And, as God should have it hopefully just the first of many. I’ve always admired those who vacationed alone but being that it was a big one for me, I decided that it should be spent with a loved-one so I took my mom.
She has always had back and has never stopped working to put me and my siblings through college. There have been many days when she would come home tired as a dog but will still be up and ready to help any and all of us through our problems. Sometimes I take her for granted because I know that she is will be there, but I wanted to show her how much I do appreciate her. So, this year aside from giving her a card and some candy, I wanted to create new memories that would be filled with moments of pampering and relaxation in México.
Although I had to wear a boot throughout our trip, we did “turn up” as much as we could after all it was our vacation. I will be posting my other looks the following Fridays, but, for now, I hope you enjoy one of my looks below.
