Skate Into The 90s

I was invited to attend 90s Night at the Dreamland Roller Disco with Flyy Girls NYC.  So, for my 90s outfit, I opted to go with a look that I remember – big hoop earrings, print clothing, wavy pattern baby hairs and the high bun with half my hair down. Now, hey, hey, do not let the pose fool you…I have not worn skates in years and the time I did wear them I was inside and on wooden floor. Here, we had concrete and a very smooth skate rink. In fact, I was actually gripping the outside of the skating rink before I got in. At first, I was so scared and then after going around and trying to bump to my favorite 90s hits, I felt my groove. Yes, I got my groove back!

It was so much fun! I got to meet some great people and make some new memories. Plus, I  burned off those mozzarella sticks and other appetizers that I ate before I hit the skating rink. [Sidebar]: If you decide to give skating a whirl, be sure to bring your own socks to wear underneath the skate rentals, your smile and fun attitude.  And, if you fall, laugh it off and get back up because skating is not easy so others would understand if you fall or tumble.

Toward the end of the night there was a skate competition that had some pretty talented skaters take the floor and show us their moves.  Below, is my  full look after I turned in my skate for solid ground thanks to my wedges.
