What’s Your Flavor? – Lay’s Chips Flavor Contest

Ever thought about creating your own flavor for a bag of chips? Well, now, you can! Lay’s has decided to not only let us vote on a flavor that we would like to try by putting them on the market but to also create our own flavors.   Lay’s is welcoming back their Do Us A Flavor contest, which will be awarding $1,000,000 for the number one flavor of choice.  I am a snacker…I confess. I like to munch on snacks throughout the day and one of the snacks just so happens to be chips.  I mean, who does not like chips?  These are  some of the flavors that I created so far.  Like many, I have a taste for real food but in a compact size that is easy to go.   You would have the flavor of an actual meal minus the microwave  and re-microwave time.    My taste are along the lines of  comfort food…why, it comforts you.   I just started to re-visit broccoli because I completely forgot how much I loved eating it especially with cheese, hence the cheesy broccoli choice.   You might also noticed that I have corn dogs as a choice and this is because when I was younger I loved going out to the carnival-like events and eating corn dogs with my family. It is more or less a flavor that is homage to a wonderful childhood memory.   I have seen some crazy, interesting flavors on the Lay’s site.  The contest does not end until April 5, 2014, so tell Lay’s what your flavor. The grand prize winner could be you!

A Healthier Me… Salt Fish / Cod Fish Recipe

I’m a vegetarian…well, technically speaking, a pescatarian and when I tell people they presume that I live a completely healthy lifestyle.  In fact, like many vegetarians, outside of not eating animal meat, I eat sweets and other junk food (anything not homemade).  As a result, I have noticed that my energy is not the same as it used to be. I feel sluggish and hungry but for the wrong things.  I decided that I did not want to feel like tired anymore so starting this year I tried to eat a little healthier by added more veggies such as bok choy and spinach to my meals like the saltfish / cod fish.

The picture on the left is the before, pre-cooked ingredients, and on the right is the after with the bok chou.  This recipe includes sweet red and green peppers, onions (which I just started adding this to my diet because I could not stand eating anything made with it.   I remember picking it out of my food and piling it in the corner of my plate) and a little bit of  turmeric.   My family uses a lot of spices that have great healthy benefits, turmeric, being one of them. It is known to assist in healing inflammation and as research continues more benefits are being discovered.   It was delish and healthy

Treat yo’ self…

…To Some Cake.


My sister and I are self-proclaimed comics that believe that it is good to laugh a lot and often so when she showed me a YouTube clip from one of her favorite televisions shows, Parks and Recreation-I could not help but laugh.  Sometimes, A lot of the time, I go out of my way to make others feel special, and on the flip side, I forget about little ol’ me.  This clip is very befitting and funny if you need a laugh.  On the hit, award-winning television show, Parks and Recreation, actor Aziz Ansari and actress Marietta “Retta” Sirleaf tell us about their favorite time of the year, and demonstrate how we should treat ourselves to anything we want for a day.  I know my treat is not an expensive designer bag or shoes, or even a lunch at a five-star restaurant but it is something that my sister and I have been trying to do forever. Though I’m on my healthy lifestyle kick, I decided to treat myself with something sweet since I have been eating very well lately.  That being said, my sister and I made a cake with whatever we had in the kitchen and it was delish!
